Marine Pure

I was looking into adding this to my 13 gallon fluval. Has anyone use it and please let me know pros and cons. Thank you

I use the big block in my sump. The pro is high nitrates are never going to be an issue. The cons are it doesn't help phosphates and it does take up some space.

I use it and it basically adds liverock to your system in a concentrated block
Depending on what kind of filtration you wanted it to do, direct flow or surface flow

I'm curious to know too. I have a refugeeum in my 120 and it gets sand in my display tank all the time during maintenance. Currently cycling 300 litre, considering marine pure as an alternative

Don't see a down side. Other than the cost, space, and having to rinse it once or twice a year

You rinse yours? Interesting. I've had mine in the system over 2 years and haven't ever touched it. What do you rinse in, old tank water?

Wouldn't the tap water kill the nitrifying bacteria?

The idea is to remove some to give you more/new room to grow new. When the "bank" is full you should make more room

Got it, unfortunately for me bank is never full..........

Marine pur recommends using tank water to clean. If the marine pur is your only biological that's good advice. If you have many other means, like live rock , sand, fuge, ime it makes no difference

just in case, you want to try one block 8x8x4 i will ask for $ 30, one year old.
I dose Nitrate to keep 2-5 ppm, i have few hundreds of Pukani Rocks , Chaeto, hard for me , to state , if remove or NOT nitrate.:scratch:
