FWIW, I tend to think people go overboard with lighting for SPS too.

Oh indeed! Funny Chris (loismustdie) just found he's getting great growth and color when he swapped one of his 250s for a 175. Calfo did a presentation on not "overlighting" sps. He said that "The energy that they save not producing reflective pigments is available for growth instead."
