I found a tiny shrimp in an acro colony tonight.

It was coral I had got from Atlantis that solbby had QT'ed for me for the past 8 weeks. While giving the coral it't final inspection I saw what i thought was a sponge growing in the middle of the colony. I used a chopstick and tried to poke it off and this little shrimp jumped out. I put him in a dish to shoot then placed him in the tank on a little rock. I doubt I will ever see him again so i'm glad I got some pics of him now.

see the starfish in the first shot, that's a micro serpent star.
the shrimp was maybe 3/8" small.
I put him in the tank and he was gone in a second.

Which tank did that guy come from? I wonder if there's more?

it was in the large acro from the QT.

considering you had a mysterious jellyfish in the main tank more tiny shrimp would not surprise me.

I hope it finds it's way back to an acro it likes.

Cool, I agree with scarf, I have the most fun lookin for the critters in this hobby, sure the fish are cool and colorful but the critters are my favorite, especially when night time comes and the nocturnal critters come out.

hey Pedro,

I did not try to ID the shrimp yet.
I also found an acro crab in the same colony.
I hope the shrimp made it back, I feel bad like
I might have busted up a relationship.

commencal shrimp live in clams as well. they keep the clam healthy by keeping the clams gills clean. if you have any clams look inside them you might find him there.
