This may be a stupid question but....here goes.

About 3 weeks into my cycle. All parameters are good.

I have a 120.

8 cone shaped astrea snails.

8 blue leg hermits, 5 scarlet hermits.

How does one of these snails end up without a shell?

Been about 3 days. Can't find empty shell. I have a lotta rock. He's just cruisin at night with no shell.

this is a slug-like creature. it's not one of your snails. it probably came off of your live rock. he's cool, and he loves to help with the snail "effort", but as much as he wants to be, he's not quite a snail. :(

Could be a Stomatella snail they kinda look like the do not have a shell and they are common hitchhikers. Could also be a Sea Slug which does not have a shell either and can be a hitchhiker.

I really didn't think something like that could survive shipping, etc...

This hobby is eye opening to say the least.
