SPS People,
What SPS are considered for the more advanced novice ?
Would you collect advanced SPS...and why ? Certain goals to reach ? Water quality proof.

Lets hear some of your inputs.....this might be interesting.

Once you have a tank where SPS thrive they all seem to thrive.

Mostly, yeah. There are a few exceptions, though. Some of the encrusting montiporas, especially the blue ones for some reason, are touchy as hell and seem to have major problems with acclimating to new tanks. Once they settle in they do fine, but in the first few weeks they're prone to tissue loss in small areas.... which often spread.

Some of the oddball kinda-sorta-SPS are similiarly touchy.... mycedium, echinopora for example.

Otherwise, one SPS is much the same as another if you've got a set up designed with their needs in mind.
