If anyone has a tiny powder blue tang, I'm looking to buy. Also willing to trade some exceptional scolys (red; red and blue), brain coral (7"), montipora cap (2", green/purple rim).

Would prefer something that has been in a tank for at least a month.

Thanks.

I hear the tang police coming........55 is way too small for PBT and since you have a pair of GMS clowns I won't put that fish in there.

well I hesitated for a long time, but after realizing that tangs take a LONG time to get big, I figured I'd be ok for a year or two, by which time I'd upgrade.

Any tang police out there wanna give some advice?

a 2"-3" PBT will outgrow your tank in less than a year. I have a hippo that was the size of a quarter and he's over 6" in than 1 1/2 year.

i Have a PBT in a 112 and feel even that might be pushing it!
I bought him around 3.5 " and in 5 months he has
already grown to 5"...who told you they grow slow
:fishhit:
I also have a (1) maroon clown, which happens to be the only fish in the tank
that tends to spar off with the tang...a pair of 'em in a 55 could spell
T R O U B L E

I'll get yelled at for telling you this but.....
They grow just as fast (but not as big), however you have a better chance keeping
a yellow in the 55.
Back in the day (early 70's),we used to have 3 in a 30 gallon.
All lived a long life (just not sure about the quality)!

PBT are sprinters as well, and would make look to be "freaking out" when they are not given enough room to swim and any 48" long tank wont suffice. I have a 110, but its high and only 48" long and have a hippo and a yellow but am dying to go bigger when I move because they need a 6+ foot tank to be able to do what they do, Swimmmmmm!
